Terms of service

Last updated 24 October 2026.

These terms govern your use of Tapwire, operated by the operator of Tapwire. By using Tapwire you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Tapwire lets you create temporary URLs that capture HTTP requests so you can inspect them, and lets you configure how those URLs respond. It is intended for developing and testing software.

Free use and limits

Tapwire is free to use within published limits, which are listed in the documentation. Limits may change. The service runs on infrastructure with daily quotas and may be unavailable when those quotas are reached. There is no guarantee of availability, capacity or data retention beyond what is described.

Acceptable use

You must not use Tapwire to:

  • host or link to phishing pages, malware, or content designed to deceive people;
  • send spam or relay unsolicited messages;
  • collect personal data, credentials or payment information from people who have not knowingly agreed to send it to you;
  • attack, probe or overload Tapwire or any other system, or try to bypass limits, for example by creating endpoints in bulk;
  • store or transmit content that is illegal where you or the operator are located;
  • process production secrets or real customer data you are not permitted to share with a third party.

We may disable endpoints, delete data or block access without notice to stop abuse or protect the service.

Your data

You are responsible for the data you and others send to your endpoints. We process it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. Data is deleted automatically when an endpoint expires and cannot be recovered afterwards. Do not rely on Tapwire as a store of record.

Your inspector keys

Anyone with an endpoint's inspector key or private link can read and delete its data. Keep them confidential. We cannot recover a lost key.

No warranty

Tapwire is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of Tapwire.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
