Changelog

What's new

Every release, newest first. Generated from the project's version history.
  1. Ad slots on content pages and mobile layout fixes

    • Reusable AdSlot with reserved height, shown only on /, /learn/*, /docs and /faq when an AdSense client and slot are configured and consent allows it
    • Reload when leaving an ad page in-app so AdSense never runs on the inspector
    • Grid items may shrink and table cells wrap, so nothing scrolls sideways at 360px
    • VITE_ADSENSE_SLOT documented in .env.example and DEPLOYMENT.md

    f3d5200

  2. Faster pages and local timestamps

    • Split every page into its own chunk; prerender with React prerender so HTML keeps full content, and preload each page's chunk
    • Inspector opens without a spinner: static skeleton, then saved endpoints read synchronously and shown while data loads
    • Timestamps in the visitor's time zone with a 12h/24h switch (default from the browser locale)

    d1ed53e

  3. CLI: forward webhooks to localhost

    • webhookwire-cli package with webhookwire forward <link> --to <url>
    • Uses the inspector's live WebSocket; forwards in order with original method, headers and body bytes; catches up once after reconnecting
    • No dependencies (Node 22+); unit tests with node --test and a README

    281c40a

  4. Conditional mock responses

    • Up to 10 ordered rules matching method, path (exact or prefix) and a JSON body field; first match sets status, headers, body, content type and delay
    • Matching runs before storage; the inspector shows which rule answered (migration 0005)
    • Rules editor in Configure response, validated with the same safety rules

    00864ee

  5. Read-only share links

    • Separate, revocable read-only token per endpoint (migration 0004, hash only)
    • Viewers can read, watch live, verify, compare and export; changes return 403
    • Revoking or replacing the link disconnects live viewers immediately
    • Read-only view in the inspector; owner controls to create, copy and revoke

    b4054b4

  6. Export as JSON or HAR, and compare two requests

    • Export one request or all requests as JSON or HAR 1.2
    • Export API returns every stored request in one call
    • Compare view: overview, headers and query side by side, line diff of bodies

    2efad57

  7. Test events and one-click first request

    • Send test event: sample Stripe, GitHub, Shopify and generic deliveries, optionally signed in the browser with a test secret
    • New endpoints offer Send a test request in the empty state
    • Fix a race where a request arriving before the live connection opened was not shown until reload

    d13d225

  8. Signature checker in the inspector

    • Verify Stripe, GitHub, Shopify, Standard Webhooks and generic HMAC-SHA256 signatures on the raw body, in the browser with Web Crypto
    • Secret stays in memory only; never stored or sent
    • Tests use GitHub's and the Standard Webhooks spec's published examples

    38c48fc

  9. Inspector search and filters

    • Filter by method, response status, header text and body text, with Clear all
    • Record the status each request was answered with (migration 0003)
    • Header and body search run server-side with literal substring matching

    120d0f1

  10. SEO and trust

    • Open Graph and Twitter tags on every page with a shared 1200x630 image; article pages use og:type=article with published and modified times
    • JSON-LD: Organization, WebSite with SearchAction and WebApplication on the homepage; Article and BreadcrumbList on Learn posts; ProfilePage for the author
    • Article template with author byline and bio, dates, reading time, table of contents for long posts, related articles and previous/next links
    • Author page at /learn/authors/webhookwire-developer
    • Build-time audit: one h1 per page, no skipped heading levels, img alt required
    • Article metadata moved to shared/articles.ts as the single source

    4ea1fa9

  11. navigation, new pages, search and sitemap

    • Header with Guides dropdown (grouped by provider) and FAQ; keyboard-accessible mobile menu
    • Footer with Product, Learn, Company and Legal columns, cookie settings, year
    • New pages: FAQ with FAQPage JSON-LD, pricing, changelog generated from git, live status (API, database, WebSocket), comparisons with Webhook.site and RequestBin

    • Client-side search for Docs and Learn from a build-time index
    • Static sitemap.xml with lastmod from git history

    • Contact form with validation, honeypot, timing trap, rate limits and email via send_email binding (mailto fallback until configured)
    • Production build fails without contact/security emails and site URL
    • Privacy policy with AdSense, consent, GDPR/UK, US state rights
    • Cookie policy listing actual browser storage
    • Consent banner with Google Consent Mode v2, GPC support, cookie settings
